My name is Cara Brostrom. This is my diary of blissful living. I'm a photographer, a yoga practitioner, a wife and an entrepreneur. I love photography and design, yoga and ayurveda, homemaking, healthy cooking, baking cakes, clean-living, fresh air, the natural world, taking photos of my cat and in general all things homemade, old-fashioned, and just plain simple.
This is a blog for all of these things. The bliss journal reminds me to slow down and pay attention to the wonder that surrounds me, to remember to take the time for self care, to appreciate good health and tend to it, to love well in all relationships, to work joyously, to breathe deeply, to stroll instead of rush, to seek inspiration in unlikely places, to listen for the bliss in the everyday.
I hope it invites you to do the same.
I grew up in the heart of the Midwest, raised in a farming culture run by families, back when this was the norm and not the exception. After college I spent several years in Great Britain, taking photos, working odd jobs, walking the countryside and dreaming under its grey skies. I left the UK with a wholly enjoyable yet completely impractical Master of Arts degree.
These days I live in New England with my husband and our kitty-cat in a small apartment in a big blue house near the green park in our funky little neighborhood in beautiful Boston, Massachusetts.
